Today I watched a video about the ten most polluted cities in the world. The most polluted city in the world is Ahvaz in Iran with 372 micrograms of pollutants per cubic meter which is heaps compared with a normal city like LA, which has 25 micrograms per cubic meter! In some of the photos it looks like there's really thick fog but really it's the middle of the day and there's just heaps of smoke from the factories. Once the pollution was so bad in the Netherlands, the water that was being evaporated had so many tiny harmful particles that when it rained it was like acid! Acid rain imagine that! We were surprised that Beijing wasn't there, or any of China's cities, but then Darryn told us that since China's govourment controls the information that is released about their country, the Chinese government would have told them to not put China's cities on the top ten polluted cities. After watching this video lots of us wanted to know what the ten cleanest cities were, and the cleanest city in the world is Wellington!
